Terms of Service

Last updated: September 3, 2026

1. Acceptance

These terms govern your use of BookHalo (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms.

2. Service

BookHalo is a Chrome extension that processes pages you can view in Kindle Cloud Reader and creates transcribed text and a reference PDF for personal reading notes and study support.

3. Requirements

The Service is intended for books to which you hold lawful access rights. For content whose access is time-limited or otherwise conditional — such as Kindle Unlimited, Prime Reading, borrowed titles, or samples — it is your responsibility to decide whether to use the Service and whether to retain the output after your access ends.

4. Prohibited uses

5. Copyright and personal use

Rights in the original book content remain with the relevant rightsholders. BookHalo is intended only to help you work with books you can lawfully access for your own reading notes and study. You are responsible for complying with Amazon's terms, the terms of any AI service you use, applicable copyright law, and other applicable rules. Outputs may include a traceable Export ID to discourage unauthorized sharing.

6. Billing

7. Disclaimers

8. Changes or termination

We may change or discontinue the Service. When practicable, material service changes will be announced in advance.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Updated terms take effect when posted on this page unless otherwise stated.

10. Contact

Use the contact form — you do not need to be a BookHalo user. You can also email [email protected].
